After occupying 1701 Pennsylvania Avenue NW for decades, Sullivan & Cromwell hired OPX to redesign and relocate their Washington office to the Corcoran Office Building. The new office design creates alignment between a unique location, spatial use and business practice requirements to provide clients, visitors and staff with the “Washington Experience.” Maximizing the impressive features that comprise the nation’s capital, as viewed from the Corcoran site, and combining those iconic visuals with disciplined design and modern function, the Washington Experience embodies presence and performance consistent with the quality of service that Sullivan & Cromwell delivers to its clients.
Simplicity, clarity of focus, and authenticity of material are the fundamental concepts of the design, spread throughout the three distinct primary areas of the office: the public conference areas, the private practice areas and the support service functions. The expansive view to the outside is prevalent throughout the entire office and is an integral aspect of the visitor and staff experience. The support service functions are strategically positioned and equipped to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
