A modern classic. Perched comfortably at the intersection of law and technology, WBK hired OPX to create a space that would reflect this interesting duality. As the largest communications law firm in the country, one critical aspiration of the firm was that the finished design reflect their unique work. After participating in the IOE process, leadership at WBK, led by Bryan Traymont, were able to develop a list of prioritized visions for the firm that then drove decision making in creating their new home.
The solution was a 35,000 RSF space that WBK can be proud of. “The hybrid word is a good word for the design. Something really industrial with a refined sense of a law firm,” said our own Courtney Murphy, the interior designer on the project. A nice balance of having raw concrete columns with a 60 foot long wood wall feature including a garage door that opens up the main conference room, the finished space also fulfilled a previously unrealized aspiration of the firm – a space that can also function to host large events. Participation in the IOE process allowed us to make design moves that initially weren’t considered, with the confidence that it would ultimately help the firm work better and become a better version of who they already were.
One of their main priorities was to have privacy, and they were initially concerned about this cafe bar area we had put adjacent to a few offices. They say now that they use it all the time and they’ve put a permanent coffee and espresso machine there!
