Manatt, Phelps & Philips, LLP, a boutique law firm headquartered in Los Angeles, is known in the marketplace for its quality, commitment to clients and range of capabilities.
The new space has enhanced the firm’s efficiency and highlighted Manatt’s progressive brand. In terms of space efficiency, this office is currently one of the most efficient law firms in Washington, DC with a square foot per attorney of 580 square feet. This kind of efficiency, in addition to being operationally more effective, saved the firm millions of dollars that can now be used to invest in people, and other important strategic initiatives.
Attorneys are housed in same-size offices, with the potential to double up; each office is fully equipped to house two attorneys. With a third of the offices available for sharing, the efficiency jumps to 480 square feet per attorney!
Both individual and shared offices have glass fronts, maximizing visual transparency and natural light throughout the space. Initially, the clear glass fronts were a subject of debate, but once the attorneys began working the firm decided to keep the glass clear. Each practice group is housed together, including administrative assistants to enhance workplace efficiency and flow across the floor plate.
Unlike the old space, the new space features an array of flexible meeting and conferencing rooms with full video conferencing capabilities. The library was condensed by 70%. The lobby opens up to a large multipurpose room which houses flexible furniture that can easily be arranged for large conferences or stored for open, firm-wide events, including client seminars and business development opportunities.
