This global client selected OPX to help them design and move its headquarters from California to McLean, VA. The primary objective for Hilton Worldwide was to relocate their corporate headquarters swiftly, in one move over a weekend, to provide a seamless transition while supporting their 10 global hotel brands. This move allowed Hilton Worldwide to deliver on a new corporate structure, initiate cultural transformation and reduce real estate costs simultaneously.
CEO Chris Nasetta wanted a light-filled space, open to daylight, with natural hues and colors that evoked a sophisticated, high-quality and lasting aesthetic appropriate to receiving international visitors. Technology for communicating frequently with other locations needed to be people-friendly, intuitive and consistent from conference room to boardroom to ensure staff could operate equipment in any room chosen. The space is fresh, polished and timeless.
The lobby displays the 10 global hotel brands projected onto a globe, which greets visitors as they enter the headquarters floor and serves as the connection between the boardroom, breakout areas, dual reception desk and spacious seating areas. Large flat screen monitors bring images of all the brands and the Hilton corporate identity and guiding principles. From the warm wood with stainless steel details to the back-lit, ribbed glass at the sliding entry doors and serving niches, the space provides a sense of understated strength and gracious comfort in keeping with this global brand known for attention to detail and first-class service.
